Common Ground Series Part 2
You are at home, relaxing. The doorbell rings. You are not aware of a particular thought process occurring yet it is happening. The messages that flow from your brain to your physical body cause you to walk to the door, ask, or look to see, who is there, open the door, and greet the person who is standing on the threshold. You hear the bell and know the correct action to take. If, when you get to the door, you don’t have all the information that you need to proceed, you ask or look to get the information before taking the next step in the process, which is opening the door. Your senses of sight, hearing, and touch have all been brought into service to create an appropriate physical response. You did not have to struggle for the knowledge to utilize these senses or to understand what these senses were communicating to you. That is because the knowledge that you needed about the senses that engaged in the process of responding to a doorbell was a part of your childhood education. There are five physical senses that you learned about while growing up: taste, touch, smell, sight, and hearing. These physical senses are stimulated by, and respond to, physical input. As an adult, that knowledge has become a natural part of your system, and you don’t need to access conscious thought to activate it.
Babies and children are open to the world around them. It’s an entirely new world, and every aspect of it must be explored. Initially, there are no rules. Physical and energetic input naturally occurs, and this data informs and creates the foundation of each of our childhoods. While control of a physical environment can be achieved to a certain degree, an energetic environment can be affected, but full control is not possible. Throughout babyhood, the energy senses, which are stimulated by and respond to energy vibration input, function as they are meant to. This continues into childhood. However, the age at which a child begins to lose their inherent connection and acceptance of these energy senses differs, according to their experiences and environment.
Unfortunately, throughout your childhood learning process, Western societal norms inhibit the conscious knowledge and growth of your inborn energy senses, which allow you to send, receive, and experience energy. Unlike the five physical senses, you, as most people in Western society, may have reached adulthood without the skills to understand what your energy senses are trying to tell you; in fact, it’s common to not be able to recognize when an energy sense is communicating, let alone what that communication means. Complicating that is the fact that any guidelines concerning your energetic experiences and your psychic abilities, which are tools for energetic communication, were also not taught to you as a child. Awareness that your energy senses are communicating information to you through a psychic ability is often accompanied by fear and misgivings about whether what is being experienced is real, normal, and healthy. Without proper guidance, and depending on the messages communicated by adults, fear and/or doubt often begin while young, since energetic experiences are a natural part of everyone’s childhood.
Whether you have awareness of your energetic nature or not, the bottom line is that you are a vibrational being who resonates at a particular frequency. Your vibrations are constantly shifting, depending on your thoughts, emotions, patterns being triggered, happy or sad experiences, interactions with people, animals, or Nature in all its forms. In other words, everything going on inside and outside of you is emitted from you as energetic vibrations.
Your frequency, simply put, is your sound and has more to do with your reactions to, and decisions about, what you experience in your life. Your frequency does change, but more slowly and lasts longer, reflecting your energetic state, which reflects your overall physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual states of being. Everything within and external to your system is informed by and responds to the vibrations you emit and the frequency at which you resonate. Your energy senses are a key to helping you understand your whole self and thereby assist you in creating and maintaining health.
Exploring how energy senses function means first looking at the role that the brain plays when processing any of your senses. You learned in school that the left brain has an extremely active part in receiving, interpreting, and communicating information that it receives from the five physical senses. For example, you were taught as a small child that stoves are dangerous because they can be “hot,” but the lesson was truly learned when you touched something hot. Messages were sent to your brain that signaled a danger, and the response was to return pain signals to your hand so that you became aware of why “hot” is to be avoided. In the same way, you learned which sensations are pleasant to experience, such as the taste of ice cream or the smell of baking bread. Your left brain directs the release of thoughts, chemicals, and other physical and/or emotional responses that guide you to interpret the information that your five senses are relating to you about your physical environment.
In some cultures, all functioning of the brain is considered important and honored. In Western culture, by the time you are an adult, the majority, if not all, of your education and training has been focused on the physical world. You are well-schooled about your physical senses and your left-brain logical, physically oriented processes. Your right brain is the expert in non-physical data and, therefore, its function is not considered important or necessary for a successful life. The qualities that emerge in a person, which are considered to be related to right-brain functions, are not honored within this type of societal structure. You have been indoctrinated into beliefs and lifestyles that cause you to, generally, only focus on the physical, yet remain ignorant of your physical being and environment. Your attention may be triggered by something new, but you will soon be going about your day once again without much awareness of yourself or your surroundings.
The reality is that, since most of the data you receive is energetic, your right brain is the driving force for much of the information that you need. Through the influx of societal bias against non-physical influences in your life, you have been denied necessary resources relating to your physical being and world, as well as a window into amazing parts of your existence. Energetic experience is vastly expansive, without the boundaries of physical existence, but with unlimited resources to inform and assist your physical life on Earth. Because of this, the functionality of energy senses is uniquely different and more complicated than how physical senses work.
Energy senses begin their job of receiving whenever energy vibrations and frequencies enter your personal energy field from you, someone else, or other energetic sources. The first thing that happens within your energy field is to compare incoming vibrations and frequencies to existing energy patterns. A previous pattern (or patterns) can be activated if enough similarities are found, or it could be new energetic data. Information is then passed to your right brain, which interprets, prioritizes, and categorizes the data that has been received. Whereas your left brain basically has a straightforward, task-oriented approach to its functioning, your right brain has a wider base of considerations. An immense amount of energetic input is received all the time, and your right brain is part of the process of discernment. Your left brain will be triggered to pass on what is currently most important for you to become conscious of.
Once your right brain determines that energetic data is valuable for you, then the issue becomes how to interpret it in a way that your left brain will accept the information and pass the necessary thoughts to your consciousness. There’s much that is involved in this part of the process. For now, it’s enough to know that your left brain will withhold thoughts and ideas from your consciousness that are new and/or foreign to your belief systems. Reaching adulthood in age or responsibility often is accompanied by a lack of awareness that certain firm belief systems exist within you, limiting the openness to growth in all parts of your being, often severely.
Since energy senses and psychic abilities perform within your system in such a foreign manner compared to the direct approach, which physical senses and the physical body employ, it is typically believed that they exist only in certain people. Everyone is born with physical and energy senses and psychic abilities. Although physical parts of your system can be damaged or destroyed, the energetic parts cannot and are resilient. Lacking a healthy, available learning process throughout childhood, coupled with the overall negative perceptions regarding energetic and psychic experiences that surround children in Western society, slow suppression is the norm. Considering this, most adults have little or no understanding of these aspects of their system, which remain dormant within them.
My life experience has been unusual because I grew up retaining the conscious knowledge that I have energy senses and psychic abilities, so the energetic part of my system continued its development into adulthood. I had no fear and no doubt that this was normal. Once I was an adult choosing to further my growth and comprehension of my entire system, I knew that when I felt fear, it was a learned feeling. I shifted my focus, relieving the fear, and knowing that the pursued lesson would return for me to explore later, when my system recognized that I was ready.
Growing up in Western society, most likely you have not been educated about the way that your energy senses communicate with you. Additionally, any energy-generated experiences will probably not have been validated as real experiences. Because your energy senses function in distinctively different ways within your system than physical senses, it becomes so difficult to try to understand the signals once you are an adult. Complicating all this is the reality that each person interprets information uniquely based on their perceptions, beliefs, and individual experiences. I have learned that the conscious mind will most likely base its understanding of thoughts on past experiences. If you have never recognized that energetic information and experiences are normal in every living being’s life, your conscious mind will bypass informing you. The good news is that your unconscious right brain is in charge and will work hard to determine how to overcome this issue.
For example, you are driving home one evening. Recently, your finances have been tight, and it has been a source of concern for you. As you are driving, you suddenly get the thought to buy a lottery ticket for that night’s lottery. Up ahead, you see a convenience store that you know sells the tickets. It all seems to fall into place, and you stop and buy the ticket. The lottery numbers are drawn that night, and you don’t win, so you chalk it up to ridiculous ideas on your part and forget about it. What you don’t know is that, by stopping at the store, you avoided an accident with a car that ran a red light on the route that you take home. The reason that you received the thought to buy a lottery ticket instead of a thought telling you to change your route to avoid an accident is because you would listen to the lottery ticket thought. It had meaning for you. Your finances were troublesome at the time, and the lottery money would relieve that trouble. The chances of your discarding the thought of an accident as silly were too high. Your right brain passed over the correct thought to get your attention, based on its knowledge of you and your belief systems.
Energy senses don’t discriminate where the energetic vibrations, frequencies, or patterns are being received from. The information you receive can be extremely personal for your individual life, or it can be from the larger pool of energy that affects all of us. In a healthy person, it is your energetic system and your right brain that will consider every part of your being to determine what data you need at any given time. It is impossible to become conscious of all the information that is available energetically. Perhaps that is easier to comprehend today, when much of the Earth is functioning in a technological system, attempting to pour data into people 24 hours a day. Positive and negative outcomes are expected from any process of societal change. However, massive change over a relatively brief period, unchecked and unlimited, is going to end up tipped heavily toward negative outcomes.
Your system is much smarter and more practical. Checks and balances are deeply embedded in every form of life, including humans. Trusting your system and re-learning how it functions is the true path to health.
